The Galaxy S26 series introduces a refreshed and more refined design with a slimmer profile and updated internal components, supported by a customised processor that delivers smoother performance and improved image processing for clearer visuals across apps, photography and everyday tasks. Regarding the removal of certain legacy features such as the LED notification light and the microSD card slot: The microSD slot was removed to help make the device slimmer and more compact, while also allowing space for newer and larger components that enhance performance, battery efficiency and thermal management. To support this transition, the device includes generous built‑in storage, and many customers now choose cloud‑based options such as OneDrive to securely store and transfer their photos and videos. Features like notification indicators have shifted to software‑based alerts within the Always On Display and lock‑screen notifications, which many users find more flexible and customisable. On the subject of charging, Samsung no longer includes a charging plug with new devices to help reduce electronic waste and encourage more sustainable re‑use of existing chargers. Any Samsung or third‑party charger that supports USB‑C to USB‑C connections will work with the Galaxy S26. We understand it can take a little time to adjust to new layouts, settings and features, especially when moving forward several generations at once.
